About the Role

As an exhibition producer, you will play a central role in the museum's exhibition activities. You will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating exhibitions that engage and resonate, in collaboration with colleagues, with a particular focus on participation and co-creation. By combining artistic expression, research, and pedagogy, you will create exhibitions that are relevant to our contemporary society and accessible to a wide audience.

You will:

  • Plan and execute exhibitions in natural, cultural, and art history.
  • Project manage exhibition productions from concept to completed exhibition, including budgeting, planning, and evaluation according to museum processes.
  • Develop exhibition content in collaboration with researchers, artists, and other experts.
  • Work with visitor focus and tailor exhibitions for different target groups.
  • Create interactive and engaging exhibition experiences.
  • Collaborate with program managers to connect exhibitions to educational activities and public programs.
  • Initiate and implement temporary exhibitions and be responsible for the maintenance and development of permanent exhibitions.
  • Collect and analyze visitor feedback to continuously improve exhibition activities.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for an engaged and knowledgeable person with strong communication skills and a creative flair. You are organized and have experience in collaboration and driving exhibition projects from start to finish. Experience working with visitor focus and interactive exhibition experiences is a plus.

We would like you to have:

  • A university degree and relevant education in the museum's subject areas.
  • Excellent knowledge of exhibition production and the possibilities of the exhibition medium.
  • Experience leading projects and managing budgets.
  • The ability to work strategically and operationally with exhibition activities.
  • Strong collaborative skills and experience working with various professional groups.
  • Excellent proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • A large network of relevant contacts.
  • Experience working with interactive and participatory exhibitions is a plus.

Practical Information

The position is full-time, located in Uddevalla, Bohuslän. There is an option for remote work, but the majority of the work will be on-site. Start date is according to agreement. Evening and weekend work may occur.
